Determine your target audience
When you know who you are and what your goals are, it will be easier for you to determine your target audience. For example, if you are talking about short exercises and healthy habits for working people, naturally your target audience will consist of employed people who have finished their education and are now working on their careers.
Knowing who will be interested in what you have to say is very important, because no matter how good your content is, sharing it with the wrong people won’t give you the results you want.
Choose the right social network
Once you’ve determined your target audience, you can start looking for an adequate social network where there are a lot of people who fit the profile. All social networks have their own audiences and unique rules that make them more or less suitable for certain types of content.
It’s generally good to choose one social media network as your primary platform, where you will invest most of your time and energy, and then possibly use another one to enhance your performance. For example, if you plan on sharing videos and images a lot, Instagram is a good choice and combining it with Facebook can help you reach more people.
Offer value to your audience
A lot of would-be influencers start out with money in mind, and although it’s OK to be motivated financially, you can’t let this rub off on your marketing efforts. For example, you cannot be too promotional and try to push hard-advertising content on your audience.
If someone publishes a post talking about a problem they are having, don’t simply try to offer them products or try to get them to like your page, follow you etc.
Instead, you have to offer them valuable information that helps them solve their problems. This is how you will slowly build trust and a loyal follower base. All of the posts, comments, and content you put out need to be focused on giving answers, suggestions and help for solving certain problems. The key is to try and invoke trust with viewers/readers. Once you’ve achieved this, they will be open to getting products or services through you.
Create your own tone
All audiences are different and your tone has to match the expectations of your followers. The way you say and present something matters. In fact, it can be the difference between someone taking you seriously and giving you their time, and people simply clicking away a second after they see you post.
When it comes to health and lifestyle, it’s generally a good idea to have a positive voice, so try to be casual, but also serious and fun when needed.
You want to motivate people and give them the energy to make changes in their lives. If you have an in-your-face approach and start telling them that they are leading their lives wrong, they will react negatively.
Create quality content
No matter which kind of content you plan on sharing with your audience, you need to make sure that it has quality. This is why you have to invest a lot of your time into content creation. As mentioned earlier, your content needs to offer solutions to problems that your target audience is having.
Additionally, the content you create is also a part of your brand and it needs to be consistent with your image online. Invest in visuals, structuration, effects, and create something engaging and memorable. Make sure that the quality is consistent and that you share content on a regular basis.
Collaborate with other influencers
The beginning can be very difficult, so don’t think that you can easily become a real influencer. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. This is why it’s generally a great idea to collaborate with influencers that are bigger than you. By mentioning people, reaching out to them or inviting them to a joint podcast, you can get a lot of new views and followers
